High School & JumpStart Students

KPC offers high school juniors and seniors the chance to take college credits for only $58 a credit (Fall 2015 - Summer 2016) while still in high school!

The JumpStart Program

High School Seniors & JuniorsJumpStart

The Basics:

  • Tuition is subsidized by the Kenai Peninsula Borough; 
  • Students are responsible for fees and textbooks; 
  • Students can take six credits a semester beginning the fall of their 11th grade school year;
  • Students are allowed to enroll in a total of seven credits (if taking a four-credit class) but only six credits will be subsidized; 
  • Students must fill out the KPC location specific high school student waiver application;
  • The waiver must have ALL signatures, including high school counselor, student, and parent (if under 18);
  • Student must have ACCUPLACER or SAT/ACT placement test scores; 
  • Each KPC location has different requirements regarding new student orientation;
  • Consult the Academic Calendar for registration dates;
  • Online registration is not available.

High School Sophomores & Freshmen

The Basics:

  • Tuition is not subsidized; Students are responsible for all tuition, fees and textbooks;
  • Students must obtain the KPC location specific high school student waiver application;
  • The waiver must have ALL signatures, including high school counselor, student, and parent (if under 18);
  • Student must have ACCUPLACER or SAT/ACT placement test scores;
  • Each KPC location has different requirements regarding new student orientation
  • Online registration is not available.
