Student Information:
Students are eligible to purchase software at a discount from the UAA bookstore, or a number of online vendors.
Staff and Faculty Information:
On Campus Use
KPC has a number of software packages available for staff and faculty use. If you need software that is not currently availalbe it can be purchased by your department. All software purchases must be approved by IT Services.
The following software is available at no charge to KPC staff and faculty:
- Adobe Acrobat
- Adobe Dreamweaver
- Adobe Fireworks
- Adobe Flash
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe InDesign
- Adobe Photoshop Extended
- Camtasia Studio
- Microsoft Office - Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, OneNote, Access, Visio
- Microsoft Project
- Microsoft Visual Studio
- National Instruments LabView including MultiSim
- Symantec Endpoint Protection
Home Use
Staff and faculty are eligible to purchase software at a discount from the UAA bookstore or a number of online vendors. In addition, the UAA Microsoft Campus agreement allows employees to purchase Office for $10 under the Home Use Program (HUP).
The following software is available to staff and faculty for no charge using the University keyserver:

Microsoft HUP
Software purchased under the HUP is available to regular, term, or adjunct faculty and regular, term, or temporary staff. The software available includes Microsoft Office, Office for Mac, Visio, and Project. Products can be purchased for $9.95. The software may only be installed on one computer, and may be used for work or personal use as long as the employee remains employed by the University.
Instructions for the Microsoft Home Use Program:
- Go to https://www.uaa.alaska.edu/mshomeuse/ and login using your UA username and password. If you don't know your UA username or password go to https://me.uaa.alaska.edu to find it.
- You will be provided with instructions to purchase the software directly from Microsoft.
- When you purchase the software you will recieve a software key in an email.
- You can download the software from Microsoft or visit IT Services to get a disk.
