Employment
The purpose of this program is to provide
KPC students an opportunity to gain relevant career experience
while earning a fair and equitable rate of pay to help offset
educational expenses. Student employee status is defined
as a non-exempt, temporary employment that is non-continuous
and variable as necessitated by both department requirements
and student academic schedules.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be enrolled @ KPC/UAA for a minimum of
six (6) credit hours in the current semester; or
- Have been enrolled in the preceding semester
for six (6) credit hours and plans to enroll for six or
more credit hours in the next semester if employment is
to occur between semesters.
- Be a US Citizen or eligible non-citizen
according to the US Immigration and Naturalization Service.
- Must complete all University of Alaska
employment paperwork.
- Student employees must be making Satisfactory
Academic Progress as outlined in the KPC/UAA catalog:
GPA 2.0 or better, prior to and throughout the term of
employment.
Notices of job openings & applications
will be posted on the Financial Aid bulletin board. Completed
applications must be turned into the Financial Aid Office.
Positions will be posted for a minimum of five (5) business
days (ten calendar days for Student Union positions.) On
the sixth (6) day, the position supervisor may begin the
selection process.
As part of the learning experience, his or her supervisor
will evaluate each student worker at the end of the Spring
semester (or second semester of work.)
