Admissions & Registration

Registration includes determining which classes you want to take, completing a registration form to enroll in those classes and paying the appropriate tuition and fees. Taking the ACCUPLACER placement test helps determine where a student stands academically and is required for enrolling in math, reading, speech and/or composition classes (appropriate ACT, SAT, or ASSET scores from within the last 2 years may also be used.)

Registration does not admit you to a degree or certificate program. Everyone, except Jumpstart and Underage students, who wants to take classes at KPC must be admitted through the application process. To qualify for Admission, you must meet one of these requirements: Be at least 18 years old; or have earned a high school diploma or GED.

Admission to a degree or certificate program requires that you take the ACCUPLACER test (or provide appropriate ACT, SAT, or ASSET scores from within the last 2 years), complete an application for admission, request official transcripts from all other colleges/universities which you attended, and pay a $40 processing fee. In addition, when you are admitted to a degree or certificate program you will be assigned an advisor who can help you plan your educational program. All non-degree seeking students, except JumpStart and Underage students, are now required to fill out a non-degree seeking admission form before, or simultaneously, with registration. There is no fee charged for non-degree seeking student admission. Underage and Jumpstart students are required to obtain necessary admission paperwork from their high school counselor, from the RBES coordinator, or download from the KPC website, and are required to obtain all signatures prior to registering for classes.

EZ Tuition Payment Plan
If a student has difficulty in meeting the current semester charges and has a good credit record at KPC, he/she has the option of requesting a deferred payment plan for tuition and fees. Application forms are available through Campus Services and must be submitted prior to registration. A processing fee of $2 for the initial contract service must be paid at the time of registration. 1/3 of total cost is required down, 1/3 is due 30 days after the semester begins, and the remaining 1/3 is due 90 days, or before the end of the semester, whichever comes first. There is ZERO PERCENT INTEREST charged in this plan. For more information, contact Teena Dyer in Campus Services at 262-0310 or toll free at 877-262-0330 or email Teena Dyer.
