AAS Nursing

Graduates of this UAA AAS Program are prepared to provide direct nursing care to individuals in inpatient settings and structured outpatient settings. The program provides students with a closely related mix of theory and clinical practice. Students gain clinical experience in hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics. The program requires a minimum of two years of full-time study.

Admission Prerequisites

    •High School Algebra or MATH 055 or math placement test (showing ability to take MATH 105) 
    •High School Biology with lab or BIOL 102 & BIOL 103, or BIOL 111/L 
    •High School Chemistry with lab or CHEM 055 or higher level chemistry

Admission Requirements 

    •Minimum High School or college grade point average of 2.0 is required; prior UAA students must have a cumulative UAA GPA of 2.0 or higher 
    •UAA Undergraduate application and AAS nursing pre-major status and transcript evaluations if needed 
    •School of Nursing application, three letters of recommendation and confidential form 
    •Completion of 15 college credits or SAT, ACT or ACCUPLACER scores 
    •Nursing Pre-Entrance Exam (PAX - RN) score 
    •Evidence of receiving academic advising from a nursing advisor
