Parking (Handicapped Availability)
At KRC, the parking areas have spaces for more than 325 vehicles. However, motorists attempting to park during preferred class times may have to park in the Residence Hall parking area, off East Poppy Lane. All campus lots are paved and lighted. The College Road outlet is exit only and the Poppy Lane outlet is both entry and exit. Motorists must obey all traffic control signs in the parking lot. The parking lot is closed from 10 p.m. - 6 a.m. and overnight parking or camping is not allowed without a parking permit. Students and visitors may obtain temporary parking permits at the Front Desk in the Kenai Residence Hall. KRC faculty and staff may obtain temporary or permanent parking permits from Campus Services. Vehicles left overnight without a permit will be impounded at owner expense.
Motorists are urged to be aware of areas designated as Handicapped Parking Spaces. At KRC, nine spaces and at KBC, four spaces are designated with a distinctive blue and white logo and are reserved for the exclusive use of persons with physical challenges and who receive permission to park in these spaces from the Alaska DMV. Motorists who park illegally in these spaces will be ticketed; vehicles may also be impounded at owner expense. If a vehicle is parked in a fire lane, it will be ticketed and impounded at the owner’s expense.
KBC parking lot access is located off Heath Street and Kachemak Way. Parking lots are paved and lighted. Overnight parking or camping is not allowed.
