Find out why people think, feel and act the way they do—discover what really makes people tick!

Want to know more about why you approach things differently than your friends? Do you seek to understand how someone ends up where they do in life? Do you tend to ask questions about different personality types or social norms? If so, studying psychology could be where you want to start your career.

The UAA BA/BS in psychology is available at both KPC campuses. Both degrees offer students a solid foundation for understanding the complexity of human behavior. The baccalaureate program serves those with a general interest in human behavior, careers in mental health, an interest in personal and professional enrichment and an interest in admission to higher levels of education. The BA prepares students for community employment or graduate school, whereas the BS provides a foundation for careers in medicine or neuroscience.

There are many directions students can take their psychology background. To be a psychologist, one must complete at least a master's degree and normally a PhD in psychology. This applies to both research and/or teaching careers and becoming a practicing psychologist. Other careers in which psychology is relevant include but aren't limited to personnel, social services, technical writing, corrections, probation, parole marketing and public relations, labor relations, gerontology, health services, fundraising, mental health, law, journalism and business.
