Learning Resource Center Services
The KBC Learning Resource Center, located in Bayview Hall, is open to all students. It is an integral component of the total KBC educational program.
The LRC hours:
- Computer lab: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Writing specialist: Monday, 10:30 a.m-3 p.m.
- Math specialist: Monday-Wednesday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Services offered include:
- Computer lab with 6 computers
- Wireless Internet available through the LRC
- Group study area
- Whiteboard for working problems
- Calculators
- Dictionaries, handbooks, and thesauruses
- Printer
There is also a larger computer lab in Pioneer Hall with expanded hours of 8 a.m-7 p.m., Monday-Thursday.
KBC’s library, a quiet study space, is located in Pioneer Hall and many library resources can be found there.
LRC Writing Lab
KBC Writing Specialist, Caroline Venuti, offers students assistance in using APA, MLA, and CES formats. Students can prepare by:
- Bringing the assignment
- Reviewing writing
- Bringing questions

LRC Math Lab
KBC Math Specialist, Duncan Wanamaker, offers students assistance with particular math problems by helping them understand concepts and independently solve problems. Students are asked to be prepared for their time for their tutoring sessions by:
- Attempting the problem
- Bringing assignments and textbooks
- Asking questions

LRC Testing Center
The Learning Resource Center provides test proctoring at its Testing Center, where students and community members can take exams for online courses, national and state licensure, industry and professional certifications, and UA distance-delivered classes. Accuplacer and ALEKS placement tests are available as well as CLEP exams (credit by examination).
Call 907-235-1601 to make a testing appointment. Advanced appointments are required.
