New art installations at KRC!

When major capital construction projects are built in Alaska, a percent of the funding is used to procure art that will be housed in or outside the facility.
In 2013, the Career & Tech Center and the KRC Residence Hall were constructed. Recent art installations complete the facilities with two outdoor sculptures and a wood carving triptych.
Well known artist, Tim Upham was selected to create both exterior sculptures.
The CTEC sculpture is titled, “Lupine Loop” and the Res Hall outside sculpture is titled, "Putting up Fish."
The basswood carved triptych, titled "Spring Ice" was created by Alaskan artist Sara Tabbert. The 3 framed pieces hang over the fireplace in the Res Hall lobby.
