Memorial scholarship donation opportunity to honor Pam Ward

In early May, Pam Ward, KRC facilities maintenance technician, passed away, leaving friends and family unexpectedly. Pam was known for her generosity and kindness and would routinely go over and above to assist staff, faculty and the students she loved. As a way to honor her spirit and to ensure that her memory is preserved in perpetuity, Suzie Kendrick is working with Pam’s daughter, Sarah Jane, to set up the KPC Pam Ward Memorial Endowed Scholarship. When the minimum endowment level is reached ($25,000), earnings from the fund will provide KPC student scholarships each semester. Sarah said, “there is nothing that would make my mom happier.”

There are currently two ways to donate to Pam’s memorial scholarship. KPC employees and College Council members can make their annual contribution to the Momentum Campaign (2016) to benefit the scholarship by noting that either on the online form or via the paper form. Alternately, donors can drop off donations directly to the KPC Advancement office (Goodrich room 145). In addition to the internal processes for supporting the scholarship, Suzie Kendrick, outside her role at KPC, is administering an online GoFundMe campaign for raising scholarship funds that can be accessed here.

For more information about the new scholarship honoring Pam, contact Suzie Kendrick at 262-0320 or 907-987-7661 or email wskendrick@kpc.alaska.edu.
