Odin and Bill Strandberg's large gas generator, Soldotna late 1960's

Two brothers, Odin and Bill Strandberg from an early Alaska gold mine family, took advantage of an unsuccessful oil well at Union Lake. Here they installed this generator and using gas from the abandoned well supplied the nearby three acre greenhouse with electricity. At one time it was part of the electric grid supplying Kenai. Bill was later the victim of a bear mauling.
