Aerial of the Jack Keeler homestead on Soldotna Creek. Some tiny log structures are seen. Staying with Jack was his colorful father, Pappy, who was very generous with his knowledge of wildlfe, cabin building and philosophy of life as gained in Oregon from whence they came. This older man was a favorite of all. Evidence is seen of tree clearing for cabin logs, garden and firewood. Interesting is the distinct difference in color on either side of the creek. At this place today is some commercial development including some state forestry offices.
