Betty Karsten cutting moose meat in garage, Soldotna 1950's

Pictured is a lady with a big knife and a satisfied look on her face. Here in Emmett and Betty Karsten's garage the meat was hung, and the women took it from there through the freezer and into the frying pan. The Karstens and Bill and Dee Stock traveled north to Alaska together in pickup trucks with campers on the Alaska Highway. Moose and caribou limits were taken along the way.
