Photographer and subjects among the Sitka spruce, Seward early 1900's

A photographer with his old Kodak camera on a tripod, along with well dressed women in fancy, warm hats can be seen. Evidence of some logging can be seen in this forest. Also filed here are two pages from the H. W. McCurdy Marine History of the Pacific Northwest which accounts the fact that this photographer was aboard the U. S. Dora (1905) on a voyage where she lost power and drifted for 63 days.
