LaDuke will present Environmental Justice, Indigenous Communities and the Economy at 7 p.m., Nov. 10, in the McLane Commons at KRC.

LaDuke is a highly respected award-winning indigenous author, activist, Harvard-trained economist, environmentalist and two-time vice presidential candidate. She is the author of five books including the Winona LaDuke Chronicles, one of UAA and APU’s Books of the year.

LaDuke lives and works on the White Earth reservation in northern Minnesota. She is the program director of the non-profit Honor the Earth, where she works nationally and internationally on issues of climate change, renewable energy, and environmental justice and Indigenous communities.

Meet the author prior to the presentation at a community potluck from 12-2 p.m., at the Dena’ina Wellness Center in Kenai.
