The workshop covers everything from the types of brushes and how to take care of them to the various mediums that are at an oil painter's disposal to several methods of painting including glazing and alla prima. You will pick up a bit of art history, pigment history, and color theory. Through a combination of presentation, demonstration and hands-on painting time, you will leave with your own painting and knowledge of the process which will give you the confidence to keep painting for years to come. Supply list for participants: Two small jars, cotton rag, palette, an assortment of brushes.
The workshop will be from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, July 14 in the KBC Pioneer Hall Art Studio at 533 Pioneer Ave. in Homer. The cost is $85. Advanced registration required.
