PEO Chapter M of Kenai, Alaska Scholarship....................Deadline 5/10
"The P.E.O. Foundation is a nonprofit corporation established in 1961 to encourage tax-deductible giving to the educational and charitable projects of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Friendship is the cornerstone of P.E.O. – it is the legacy left by our Founders and it thrives in our unique Sisterhood. P.E.O. exists to be a source of encouragement and support for women to realize their potential in whatever worthwhile endeavor they choose."
"True to the mission of promoting educational opportunities for women, education continues to be the primary philanthropy of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. In fact, the P.E.O. Sisterhood proudly sponsors no less than six international philanthropies, or projects, designed to assist women with their educational goals."
The $1,500 scholarship will be made available in two $750 amounts, one each semester, beginning in the Fall 2013. Any woman who has already successfully completed at least one semester of college and is planning to enroll or has enrolled at the Kenai Peninsula College, Kenai River Campus, is eligible to apply.

Tim Akers Memorial Scholarship ..........................................Deadline 5/31
The Tim Akers Memorial Scholarship Fund supports outstanding Alaskan students in the pursuit of technology education and/or training.
Tim Akers played an influential role in the development and production of the Prudhoe Bay Oilfield. Mr. Akers served as a mentor and role model for many young Alaskans with little or no experience working on the North Slope. His guidance helped to establish a solid core of exceptional Alaskan talent in the Prudhoe Bay workforce. Mr. Akers also served as President of the Chuloonawick Native Corporation.
The Tim Akers Memorial Scholarship will provide an award of $1,000.00. Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need.

It takes someone special to care about the future of others. Tylenol will be awarding 10 applicants $10,000 scholarships & 30 applicants will receive $5,000 scholarships on August 31, 2013 for their educational needs.

American Fisheries Society Scholarship ……...….............Deadline 9/15
The Cultural Diversity Committee of the Alaska Chapter of the American Fisheries Society announces the availability of a travel scholarship to attend the 2012 Annual Chapter Meeting, October 21-26 in Kodiak, Alaska. Scholarships will be awarded to a Native Alaskan or other minority to cover travel expenses.
