Graduating with Honors
To be eligible for honors, an undergraduate student must earn a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher in all college work attempted at KPC/UAA. Honors for the commencement exercises are determined by the student's GPA through the semester prior to graduation; however, total academic history determines honors on the diploma and official transcript.
Transfer students earning an associate degree must complete 15 resident credits (minimum) with academic letter grades to be eligible to graduate with honors. Transfer students earning a bachelor's degree must complete 30 resident credits (minimum) with academic letter grades to be eligible for honors. Transfer students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher in all college work (at UAA and at other institutions) to graduate with honors. Grades and credits earned from all repeated courses are included in determining eligibility for honors.
Honors are awarded to associate and bachelor degree students with cumulative GPAs as follows:
- Cum Laude 3.5 to 3.79
- Magna Cum Laude 3.8 to 3.99
- Summa Cum Laude 4.00
