High School Juniors and Sophmores
KPBSD high school Juniors and below may apply for special permission to waive university policy and attend a college level class.
Applications to waive university policy and allow student under 18 to attend classes at KBC are considered on a case by case basis and require:
· Documentation of academic readiness
· Emotional maturity
· An understanding of the Student Code of Conduct
Enrollment procedures:
Meet with high school counselor or principal who will recommend classes for you to take
- Take the KBC Accuplacer Placement Assessment. Complete application form including signatures of counselor, parent and student
- Meet with a Student and Enrollment Services Advisor and obtain signature
- Obtain signature from appropriate faculty and the campus director
- Enroll in course and pay tuition
Good to know:
- College work is more rigorous and much less guided than high school classes
- All coursework will go on your permanent college transcript
- Adult themes are often endemic to college materials and discourse
- Underage students are fully responsible for complying with all policies and procedures of the college
- The college will not act in a parental role
- The college cannot release student records to parents
