  1. FEES AND EXPLANATION

    These fees are charged in addition to tuition and any other lab or special fees noted within the course schedule.

    All fees are approved by the UA Board of Regents and KPC reserves the right to change fees and refund policies at any time. Fee assessments are subject to audit and correction and any adjustments will be made within forty days following the close of late registration or after any change in the student’s schedule. Students will be notified by mail of any adjustment.

    ACCUPLACER Testing Fee:  $15 per testing session

    Admission Application Fee: $40 (non-refundable) paid when submitting an admission form

    Audit: Fees are the same as for those enrolled for credit

    Computer Lab Fee: Applies to all courses that use a computer lab, regardless of discipline; $15/credit; $20/two credits; $25/three credits

    Credit-by-Examination Fee: $40 per credit; Students must complete all application materials

    Credit/No Credit Option Fee: $3 per form will be charged for CR/NC grading option

    Distance Delivery Fee: $18 per credit distance fee for all distance delivered courses originating at KPC sites excluding classes delivered via video conferencing

    Drop Fee: $3 for each class dropped after start of late registration; fee will not be charged when changes are necessitated by cancellation or rescheduling of courses by KPC

    Graduation Application Fee: There is no fee to apply for graduation at KPC. Students applying to graduate from UAA pay an application fee of $50 to UAA

    Independent Study Fee: Same as regular tuition rates

    Laboratory or Materials Fee: Lab and material fees may be charged for some courses. These charges are in addition to tuition and are listed in the course schedules

    Late Payment Fees: Fees are levied when all tuition and fees owed (or made arrangements to defer payment) have not been paid by the published deadlines; the first late payment fee is$125 assessed; the second additional late payment fee is $175

    Late Registration Fee: $50 charged if registration occurs during the published late registration period; fee refundable only if all classes that are registered in are canceled

    Non-Credit Course Fee: Classes numbered 001-049 are non-credit and do not meet degree requirements and they may have fees other than regular tuition

    Student Activity Fee: $4.25 per credit (max. of $51 per semester) assessed for students enrolling in one or more credits to support student-related activities; does not apply to distance delivered courses

    Student Health Center Fee: (KRC only) $8 credit (max. of 15 credits) for students registered for six or more credits; the student health center provides free primary health services, diagnosis and treatment of general health conditions as well as education and support to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Students taking UA distance courses, with or without face-to-face classes, totaling six or more credits are eligible to use the Clinic if the fee is paid. Contact KRC Student Services to pay the fee

    Technology Fee: $7 per credit (max. of $105) per semester charged to provide up-to-date equipment, software, maintenance, training and support. Fee does not apply to distance delivered courses

    Transcript Fee: Official transcript requests can be made at UAOnline; if an immediate official transcript is required, one only will be furnished within 24 hours (one business day) of receipt of the Transcript Request Form and a fee of $25 received at the UAA Enrollment Management Kiosk at the University Center in Anchorage; faxed or mailed requests cannot be processed in the 24 hour timeframe

    Test Proctoring Fees: $30 fee for up to three hours of test proctoring services; applies to students from a non-University of Alaska school or university

    3% Network Charge: $5/credit for lower, $6/credit for upper and professional level courses and $12/credit for graduate level courses (rounded to the nearest dollar). Fee is mandatory for both face-to-face and distance delivered classes. Fee is applied at 3% on a course-by-course basis to tuition, non-resident surcharge and fees in lieu of tuition for credit and non-credit courses; fee covers the maintenance and enhancement of university-wide technology infrastructure. Courses with applicable fees less than the current lower division credit hour tuition rate will be exempt from the charge
