Ordering Textbooks
Be sure to order books well in advance of the course start date.
For e-learning courses, textbooks are generally not available in the brick-and-mortar bookstores. Instead, they need to be ordered and will be delivered to your address.
MBSDirect.net is available to access book information or to order; the web site also gives information about refunds, online buyback, eBooks that may be available, and other course materials they can access.You may also call via phone (1-800-325-3252).
Exception:Anchorage Extension Site students should call the University Center bookstore directly, at(907) 786-1186.
Professors expect students to have their books the first week of classes. Be sure to choose an appropriate shipping method - either order well in advance to save on shipping costs, or choose one speedy enough to ensure you get your books before the course begins. MBS Direct ships via UPS because it is trackable; they will use the US Postal Service (USPS) if the student wants, but it is untraceable and can take longer.
- USPS Priority Mail typically takes 7-10 business days and delivery time is not guaranteed.
- UPS Ground takes about 3-8 business days.
- UPS 2-day shipping is also available.
