LIBRARIES
KPC campuses have libraries to assist students with reference
materials including books, journals, DVDs, audio and video tapes, local
and national newspapers and maps. Materials are mostly organized by the
Library of Congress Classification System. There are several online
databases available for students as well.
The libraries' online catalog includes KPC,UAA Library and the
Anchorage Municipal Library's holdings. Through interlibrary loan,
students have access to items held by libraries in Alaska
and nationwide. The KPC Libraries are part of the UAA Consortium Library
system. Students can place online direct requests for materials within
the system.
Students are responsible for returning books to the libraries by the
due date or fines will accrue at the rate of $0.25 per day per book to a
maximum of $10 per book. When fines reach $5, students are blocked from
checking out more library materials. Fines are charged as soon as the
book is overdue. A $52 replacement fee is charged if a book or video
(DVD) is lost or damaged.
